Graham Fitkin (UK)

Graham Fitkin (UK) is a British composer and pianist whose work explores the intersections between music, environment and technology through live performance, field recordings and collaborative community-based projects.

His latest large-scale project, Treeline, connects communities, forests and local ecosystems across Europe through music and sound, transforming recordings and stories inspired by trees into a newly imagined “forest instrument” for piano and keyscanner.

As a composer and performer, he has collaborated with institutions and artists such as New York City Ballet, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, BBC Orchestras, Nederlands Blazersensemble, Sacconi Quartet, Yo-Yo Ma, Piano Circus and Tate.

He has been Composer in Residence with the London Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. His recent works include Geography Brussels and Uist for the FitkinWall duo alongside harpist Ruth Wall.

Graham Fitkin has received three BASCA Composer Awards, the Royal Philharmonic Composer Award and the International Grand Prix Dance Music Award.
