Classix Lab is Classix’s national programme for artistic education, production and professional development, connecting emerging artists with established performers, mentors, professionals from the cultural and creative industries, and institutions from Romania and abroad.

Building on its 2024 pilot edition, Classix Lab expands nationwide in 2026, reaching Bucharest, Iași, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara and Arad between October and November. The programme draws on the artistic experience, educational initiatives and international network developed by Classix, bringing them together in a framework where education meets professional practice. The 2024 edition already combined masterclasses, workshops, concerts and dialogue-based activities across Iași, Suceava and Vatra Dornei, bringing together international artists and young participants. 

The 2026 edition includes 5 concerts, 20 masterclasses, 4 video mapping and new media workshops, 8 cultural management sessions and 5 panel discussions, involving more than 50 artists, mentors and experts from Romania and abroad. Classical music, visual arts, new technologies and cultural management come together in a programme centred on collaboration, experimentation and professional development.

Classix Lab concerts will take place in landmark cultural venues across the five cities, bringing international artists and ensembles to the stage alongside interdisciplinary productions developed within the programme. The artistic programme is complemented by educational and professional activities that give participants the opportunity to work directly with artists and specialists active on the Romanian and international cultural scenes.

A distinct component of the programme is dedicated to emerging artists. Four musicians and four visual artists will take part directly in mentoring, creation and production processes, working alongside established professionals while developing their experience, portfolios and professional networks. At the same time, the masterclasses, workshops and cultural management sessions create opportunities for training and exchange for young artists and cultural professionals.

Through this structure, Classix Lab creates a direct link between artistic education, cultural production and the professional market, providing concrete contexts for learning, collaboration and professional integration while connecting Romania’s cultural scene with international artists, institutions and professionals.

Classix Lab 2026 is a cultural project funded by the Romanian Ministry of Culture through the de minimis aid scheme supporting cultural initiatives, with RON 485,840 in non-reimbursable funding, from a total eligible budget of RON 608,270.
